Calavera plays an important role in the Day of the Dead, symbolizing life and death, celebration and commemoration. Death itself is a symbol of darkness and fear, but in the Day of the Dead it is more of a joyful and dreamy feeling.

The skull symbolizes joy and magic in this festival. We use bright colours and colourful backgrounds to express this festival’s unique view of death. On top of this, we can use joy and fantasy plus colourful flowers to set off the theme of joy and magic.
